I suspect a "friend" who's a recruiter at a company I applied to didn't advance my application on purpose. I suspect it's cos they know im super competent and might do a better job than them. The role was on their team & they had previously mentioned that they were not responsible for the shortlisting. But later, they slipped and said that they had worked on filling that role.
