I have received offer from Wipro which is little above than the offer that I am holding but fixed pay is less. Thinking of rejecting Wipro offer. Is it better to reject or accept and then not join. Also if I reject, will there be any issue like they won't consider me in future?Tata Consultancy Wipro Cognizant Infosys

To leave as a partner with stellar exits, you’ll need to be a deep expert and have some luck - so that’s like 10+ years in as partner usually for C level exits
In that same time, you can develop operating track record in industry and have other opportunities that are great too. Much harder to switch from Consulting to industry at higher levels without operating experience

Kind of surprised that McK EM getting $180k base…but 2 nonetheless! Congrats!
Yeah it’s like big4 money for 50% more hours I know they pay their people a lot as they get more senior so maybe you just gotta pay your dues.
2 — congratulations 🎉🍾

MasterCard
Congrats 🎉 2 seems to sound good. The only challenge will be is whether Mastercard is going to grow or going to be eaten up by the upcoming Fintech companies
Congratulations!!
How many YOE do you have? Thank you
10, though not all at Accenture
Surprised McK is only offering $180k - I'm getting that at D, though much lower expectations for bonus and I'm sure benefits aren't as strong.
Personally, I'd only choose 1 if you *love* consulting and don't want to leave
Not sure about the function at 2 (e.g., is it something more siloed / dead end like strategy or a more core role to the P&L). Did you tell McK that you have a counter offer? They may bump the base... The TC looks like an EM with WP track record vs. VS or D track record..

McKinsey EM is only 180k base? I’m sure they have great career ops but seems a bit low. Managers in Consulting (especially new hires) make 190-200k+ base at my firm.
Option 2 looks good, big increase. You can always go back to Consulting if you don’t like it.
Option 3- Apply for Senior Manager in Deloitte Consulting! Shoot for 240-250 base plus 30% bonus. :)
Thats a pretty nice band there big D
Um Mastercard - no doubt
What function of MasterCard is this?
Pricelessness Strategy Manager
What kinda wizardry…. OP, how are you going from, I’m assuming, an ASCDP senior consultant to a D level role at an F250?
M2 going on m3 actually, with an exec mba and 10+ years of experience. So, not sure where you got ASCDP senior consultant from except that i know those folks are getting high starting comps these days.
As per other comments, likely option go 2. But only unless you are looking for a major pivot elsewhere into a diff domain or industry, you might be better served hanging on in McK.
What level is the director at MasterCard?
That seems low for a mck em. Could you tell them you need them to match the $235. If you are still interested in learning and are not set on the payments space I would take mck. If payments is your chosen path, go for that. I just think you might limit your career growth and potential at mc
McK 7, what type of candidates negotiated? Is it when joining or internal promotions/designation?
Aren’t MBB post-MBA salaries now like 175k with recent raises? Do they just not bump too much going to EM?
You can negotiate with McK
Does MC pay more than Amex?
OP - I would really reflect on your priorities and do a self-assessment again, and then decide.
MC can be exciting (if payments is your thing) but may be longer journey to the top. Although you never know - from MC many doors can open in banking, fintech...great company, I’ve heard.
McK can be equally or even more exciting (if consulting is your thing and if you’re keen to learn new things) and journey to P can be reasonably fast (4-7yr max; if you make it...). But as pointed out before, it’s a way far from guaranteed that as a P at McK you’ll have ton of exciting C-suite opportunities. Likely not...
World has changed, it’s not the same as even 10 years ago.
So in short, I’d go to McK only if you want to be career consultant (perfect place), or if you just want to do 2-3yrs (making AP or not) to get that badge on your cv and move on (will likely be considered for the same positions as now, perhaps a bit better / more choices).
