I want to advocate for myself without being labeled difficult. It feels like a fine line in healthcare. Any advice on pay conversations?

You can't control how they label you. Ask for what you're worth and let them react however they want. If advocating for yourself makes you "difficult" in their eyes, so be it. I'd rather be difficult and well paid than the consummate team player who has to pick up a second job to pay the bills.

You’ve got a great point. No point in worrying what others think as long as I’m doing what’s best for me!

I always hear that people who say somethign have a better chance of getting what they want! So don’t be shy but have evidence to back you up

This is true, just sitting around hoping for some kind of recognition isn’t gonna get me anywhere 😅

I am a traditional reservist so I never really used military benefits before, but could use advice here.

I am currently renting and my lease is not up until October 2021, however I found a good deal on a home and scheduled to close in June 2021.

My landlord will not work with me to end the lease early, so it looks like I will have to double up on rent and mortgage through the summer.

If I went on active duty orders, can I use those orders to break my lease early without penalty?

What is a simple way to explain to my boyfriend that investing in equity with an expected return of 10% is better than paying off debt that is growing at a rate of 6%. He has student loans and is adamant that he wants to pay all of them off immediately before saving any retirement money. I understand that many individuals use this strategy but I think investing in index funds for the long haul is better from a wealth accumulation perspective, without even factoring in tax implications of 401k

My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?
