I wanted to get some advice. I am trying to transition into doing receptionist work and out of the mental health field. Is there any one who has advice on this? I’m trying to do volunteer work being a consultant on the side. It would be nice to hear back from people who understand.

To give background, I did mental health work in New York and Massachusetts, and I’m honestly very burnt out from it and I’m no longer passionate about it. If anyone can give advice I’d appreciate it.

Looking for some advice on a career change. I work in a technical role and have well-developed soft skills. I want to transition to UX (w/ focus on accessibility). There are a lot of UX educational programs out there, some very new, e.g. Dribbble, and costs are all over the place - General Assembly is $15k (and full-time), CareerFoundry almost $8k, and then many others at a fraction of the price. Reviews also vary wildly. Are these more expensive programs worth the huge increase in cost?

Is Operations paid the least at your respective firms? I was hired to a Client Service Delivery role with a heavy focus on project management. I regularly interface with leadership internally and at the client. But, I am aligned to the “Operations” capability and make the least of my teammates who perform seemingly identical work but are aligned to “Strategy and Consulting.” I worry I’m on a career path to being paid the least wherever I go, because Operations is in my title and background.

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). How do you manage your money?

I only bring in a little over $2,600 a month. After paying all my expenses, I get to put away $500 a month in savings but don’t have much wiggle room for anything else, including going out money.

I’m very privileged to have a significant inheritance and zero debt of any kind. I really wonder how my peers who have student loans, car payments, and even children manage to pay their bills and live so comfortably. Please share if this is you!
