Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Okay, so you're currently sacked. You've got an audience. Pitch the crowd, let's see if we can get you a meaningful referral and some mentoring somewhere.
I'm going to DM you
Would recommend going to work at a product company in implementation

Wow this could be me! In my case though I quit my role and now looking for other careers. You are not alone; I believe knowing the problem is already a 50% solution, we are almost there
Capco 1 - I've been working with Salesforce for awhile now. I have (or at least had, some may have expired) the following certs - salesforce admin, salesforce sales cloud, bigmachines (yellow and blue belt). I'm also very familiar with steelbrick. My DM isn't working but you can try my burner at fishburner2281@gmail.com.
Got it - and have connected you to others via your proper gmail, not the burner.
I was fired twice. It sucks but you’ll come out stronger for it. Remember, your job doesn’t define who you are.
A3 - I did not. I went to a small liberal arts school for undergrad in Indiana, and I'm currently doing my mba through the online program through Kelley at IU.
I've also heard we have another big round of layoffs coming 👀
Surprised it hasn't really been mentioned yet, but it may be a strong possibility that consulting is not for you. This is true of many people who have come and gone in this industry. It's very possible that you can be a mediocre consultant but still a rockstar in industry based on what you've learned while at your firm. Succeeding long term as a consultant requires a unique skill set and changes with seniority.
@Op sorry to hear that. Have you taken time to examine why this happened a second time? Is it due to low performance?
What is your level? I’ve seen people come in at too high a level for their experience/knowledge and it often ends up like your situation
A2 - i was brought in as a manager. I told the partners that hired me at the time that I was not manager level yet and that I'd need time to grow into it. I think Senior Associate would have been more appropriate.
A2 - also worth noting that i was brought in as a management consultant yet i spent most of my time at job #2 doing technical consulting. While i have some technical skills, it's not really my strength and i was upfront about that prior to being hired.
M3 - not really. Two very different roles on two very different projects. I never felt I really got true feedback, as there were never official snapshots made, nor did the partner/director give me a debrief after either project - even when i asked for a snapshot/debrief
SL 1 - that was my first job out of school which i had for about 3 years. I liked the work and was good enough at it. However, that job was really a dead end as business had dried up by the time I left.
S2 - im open for the right opportunity
I don't believe it's because of your performance, sure it's due to firm laying off ppl... Am sure there are more folks who have been let go...
A1 - i'd love to hear from you. My burner is fishburner2281@gmail.com

Op what do you think about consulting is not for you? The high expectations?
