I was just told that I shouldn't set hard boundaries and should always have my computer on so my Skype is green. I typically work from 8am to 7pm then 9pm till late (usually off between midnight and 3). This seems perfectly reasonably, am I missing something?

Does anyone here work for any public accounting firms in the Charlotte area with a decent work life balance? I am looking to go somewhere where I can focus on a few clients for longer periods of time rather than constantly bouncing around. I find it much less stressful to put in longer hours if it's a client that I have been scheduled on long term.

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad.
