I was recently terminated on the spot from my work without any notice even though my employment contract stated 5 week’s notice for both sides, and only received my last week’s paid plus the annual leave and was not paid for the 5 week’s notice period and the 8% holiday pay. I was previously called into a formal meeting one month prior to the termination and during the meeting was told that I’d be receiving a final warning letter despite no prior warning letter or formal meeting. Was that fair?

For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. I thought we would at least match last year's number or be up a little bit but we are trending down. I talked to employees of other stores in the mall and they are saying the same thing. How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? The sheer volume of work is exhausting and I haven’t taken a true vacation as we are a small company so if something urgent comes to my email I feel like I must respond. I was given an additional title and more responsibilities last year as well but only a 3% raise for it.

28th Jan(after 2 days) is my joining date in one of the organisation.. meanwhile I get a call from one of captive company for final managerial discussion scheduled for today itself.
I doubt they can release offer in just 2 days if all good, having said that tomorrow is holiday.
