I was teamed up with another producer to watch them lead a project, but they are expecting me to do more besides shadow. And it is coming across as she doesn’t know a lot of things. Do I just sit back and continue to oversee while this person leads? It’s frustrating and I am already annoyed that we are teamed up together in the first place.

How do I leave my role as someone on the talent team. I am on a small recruitment team of only a few people, who connect daily. I’ve been asked by a client to coach their team on how to structure and write scripts for their corporate event content (e.g. panel discussions). I’ve happily had a crack at helping them but it’s a bit out of my wheelhouse - is this ask something that would ordinarily be given to an agency copywriter? Or would it usually be something a content or speech writer would do?

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. How do you deal with clients who act like they know more than you even though they don't?

I recently had a specialist partner send me a fairly nasty email after I (a transactional first year) was told to ask them to review something ASAP that had clearly been on my partner’s radar for over a week. Why am I taking the (honestly justified) blame for this? Surely it should be obvious that I’m just the messenger here.

Small firm (my boss, me, & a paralegal). After a hearing I did not handle, boss intended to seek review of the ruling in its entirety. What was communicated to me by paralegal was to seek review of a portion.

Seeking review is now time-barred. Boss is not upset, but this is 1 case & 1 problem. There are other cases & other stories.

How do I talk to my boss about being more present (boss is never in office, has “too many” emails, never answers his phone) without being seen as insubordinate?

Currently our marketing team is of one (me) and we outsource quite a bit of other tasks as we continue to grow. With that said, one of the tasks I am currently involved with is creating weekly emails from scratch and I am pretty darn good at them. Like in Dec and March you will see less requirement due to Christmas and financial year ending. Similar what is the best period?
