Bain & Company Is it truly easier to get in a smaller MBB office?
Have heard a lot for different opinions on these. The logic is that it’s easier because there is a lot of supply in cities like NY, Chicago and SF, but the counter argument is that the offices with less supply are also way smaller and have a lot less demand.

How much would my tech stack and language be a factor in getting selected in faang or good product based companies?
I'm asking from getting my resume selected to getting an offer.
I read everywhere that only DSA and system design is needed, but I'm still concious about my tech stack.

OP - great line about the Brinks truck. Never heard that used like that before. Good luck getting the big payout.
I think everyone is forgetting to ask the important question here... what line of service OP? If it is an advisory/consulting line then 82% is really good.
But congrats on the 5 - not easy to get.
OP was on medical leave for 6 months
Can you honestly say your utilization is above 82%? My mom always tells me I work too hard, when i can't talk on the phone after 6:30 sometimes. You have to make sacrifices to be a 5, but most of you wouldn't know about that.
lol I had 72 and got promoted to@senior with a 4 😂
106% utilization 8 months of the year and you want a medal for 82%???
I will take the medal too if offered ^^
In a speciality group and have 40+ clients per year, we only charge what we work, unlike audit where you charge from when you get there to when you leave. Utilization also does not equal value, esp if you have high utilization on things that are fixed fee... when it's all T&E different story
What fughesi service line is this clown in where 82% utilization is good?
When I was in advisory our low utilization for the group was 93%... but yes, could be a specialty practice where 82 is excellent I suppose. OP did get a 5.
RSM 60%!?? What do you all day???? That's insane. You're office must be way over staffed.
Don't worry. 82% is good.
82 is terrible. Out the door in some places
I had 200% utilization and got a gift card once for $100, as a "thank you."
So cute.
I had 76% utilization and still got a 5 when I was senior 1. Utilization is important but the impact you create is even more important. My counselor was brilliant in presenting me at the round tables.
I'm at 60% realization and in the 2nd quartile. Good job OP.
I'm an A1 at 82% and in the southeast too. I was unassigned for over a month this summer and I actually take vacation. Now I'm worried about performance discussions
Assume they are saying 5 despite low utilization.
I think performance trumps utilization.. I had 72% and got a 4 with promotion to senior.. I was efficient as fuck kek
Most of the staff and seniors in my office fall In the 90s or low 100s
