Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

I fly Delta because that's the only nonstop to DTW from LAX. I hate UA though my family's used them for years. To me they're nothing better than a budget airline (probably because I never had status). It is what it is. Honestly just get over it and deal with more pressing matters in your life. Reconsider your happiness. Ask if you've been a good partner. Are you saving enough for retirement?
Agreed. I don't fly United as their routes don't cover my client city but I will make damn sure to never fly United.
I don't think it's necessary to get violent. Unless you've been living under a rock, police brutality has been an issue for a while now. Don't blame UA, let's ask why it's okay for police to escalate with impunity

So how would you remove a noncompliant passenger other than calling law enforcement? Let's say the voucher idea is moot because it was currently against policy. Not an ideal policy but a policy put in place yet shortsighted to the circumstances we face today

@P2, I guess you don't fly much. They don't give you cash, they give you an airline voucher which is only redeemable for the airline.

@D6 that's a good way to protest and I applaud that. I agree there's other methods they should've opted for. Kudos for your viewpoint on this and I can't say I disagree. Wish it turned out differently for everyone.

And I'd be pissed with you SA1. But total outrage that they're outside of their rights and obligations to try to get that flight underway is a stretch. They might've overstepped it, sure. I'd blame the individual employees and the police far more so than condemning the entire company for being shitty. I think the policies are fair. $1000 usually works. I'll take the vouchers and hotel night. I get shit happens and we should all be treated with respect, which is what UA and the police should've prioritized here. It is a sorry situation that didn't happen, but throwing the baby out with the bath water isn't the right response in my view
One of the arguments I'm hearing is that It's ok to bump somebody involuntary from a confirmed flight as long as they compensate with a voucher. My question is, what if the passenger really had to be at the destination because of an emergency such as sick kids, a job interview, attending funeral, etc. do you guys think a $1000 voucher is still worth? Especially for a doctor who already makes lot of money.

I've been there where I've followed the rules and you get crapped on... trust me, you try to do it their way enough and you just end up getting bumped all the time... I hope they take this opportunity to address this issue
