If a candidate wants an “introduction” to the account manager over a particular role, what do you do? I often have candidates who want me to introduce them to my colleagues who have a particular role up. Do you just always do an E introduction to your colleague? Even if they clearly are not a fit?

Oh I don't do it unless it adds value, like there's no point. Why does the candidate want an intro in the first place? I only introduce colleagues if they have a placement that would be a better fit for the candidate vs what I'm working on

like

It's respectable that you don't want to waste your time or ghost them. It's best to be honest and straightforward. Clear communication is kind.

like

I don't intro colleagues unless the candidate has a super strong profile. Otherwise, I ask them to apply and let them know we'll inform them of our decision.

Just be honest. Tell them you compared their experience to the requirements for the role and the client needs a better match.

If you don’t like doing that you might want to get out of agency recruiting. You aren’t there to make the candidates like you. You are there to find your client people to help them grow their company. Rip off the bandaid, tell the candidate your client isn’t going to pay a $20k fee for someone who hasn’t done the exact job in the exact industry your client operates in. Create a template that says this in as nice a way as possible and let them know you will keep them in mind for other position they are a match for. Copy paste until you find the right person. It isn’t personal. It’s business.

I am never introducing someone when I see that they are not the best fit for the job. I don't my name attached to the incompetence of an employee.

What is the advice on what feedback to leave for a peer who really sucks at everything y'all have worked together on? It's about the time where everyone on my team requests feedback from each other and I'm nervous for it coming up. My manager knows that everything I've worked w her on I end up doing 90% of the work when it's meant to be split so it is a known issue. We're both at level 3 so are genuinely peers. She seems like a nice person but i have 0 positive work feedback tbh

Do managers tend to make a scene while you put your papers?

Kind of love my main client. She lowkey texts me when she steps away from calls to pee.

Fellow Big Law colleagues, need help on how to hansle a situation (that shouldn’t even be happening imo).
I used to work for Partner A in project financing and made the internal switch to work in Investment Funds team.
One case with Partner A remained, and though I stayed on, it was mostly to advise in Investment Funds, as he had been looping in another associate from his team.
This week I had to send an e-mail about InvF, and he complained to me that he hadn’t seen the draft…how do I respond?

Do you think it is time to find another job when your PIC is a micro manager, never trained you when you got hired, expects you to know things no one ever told you about in the first place, texts and calls you in the morning with questions you don’t have an answer to (I work evening shift so I’m mostly sleep when he reaches out), assumes the worst about everything, plots against you anyway, lies all the time, they don’t even do their job, they leave their trash behind etc. gives me anxiety.

Why I think my manager tries to move me out?
- I am 18 YOE with a technically strong background
- Upper mgmt is starting to identify me as the backup for all systems. My manager tries to move me out since then

Hope this is helpful for any one who is looking at this area.
