If a company says that your salary expectations from the application are a little higher than what they thought but are willing to accommodate, is there still room for negotiation?

They mentioned this in the first interview so just curious if this is just a tactic and it’s well within their salary range they exact to pay.

I would still negotiate for what you want. Maybe be prepared for a little more pushback, but they already said they're willing to accommodate.

Could be just a tactic. I would negotiate how you planned to regardless.

There may be a little room. Probably not much though.

What is average yearly increment in Persistent?

Resigned from my job for blatant racism last week. Been a contingent worker for 6 months. The manager that recruited me unfortunately left after a couple weeks and went to another company. She however recommended me for the permanent opportunity to higher management. The acting manager came in, permanent role was posted, I applied, interviewed……manager told me they chose someone else external for the role. I could sense the manager had no intentions to hire me permanently

Currently making 125k salary with 10k bonus at essentially an assistant controller role. Client wants to hire me and is asking for my compensation range. They floated around 150k last time we spoke but is there potential to ask for more?

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

I recently interviewed for a small strat consulting company (energy industry). I have 3 YoE and would be moving from engineering. the HR person asked me what my salary expectations were I was caught offguard and said I would expect it to be at least what I make now (around 100k). Im now worried theyll lowball me because I really shouldve asked for 120+bonus (I think this is market rate?) But they have salary bands they follow right? So if they pay consultants 140 usually would they offer me 100k?

Friendly tip from a former recruiter & HR PM.

Under no circumstances disclose how much you make or what you want to make.

Tell the recruiter,” I need to interview to learn more about the specific details of this opportunity before I’ll know how much I need to accept a potential offer…”

I discuss & other do’s and dont’s on IG.

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
