Yes, people do this all of the time. Just make sure, with whatever company you are interested in, that their benefit has your provider in network and you’d be able to continue treatment without disruption and having to switch doctors. It’d be as simple as changing your insurance information with your current fertility clinic.
Don’t know the answer, but keep in mind that some companies require you to be with a company for certain period of time before you can start using those benefits. So it also depends how much time you have or don’t have.
This. Forgot to mention this in my prior comment. This is a big one for some companies that are savvy and are aware that employees are job hopping solely for fertility benefits.
What if they provide the same type of benefits, since some have “life time maxs” is that just for the company you are in. And then resets if you move on?
It’s an entirely different company and medical plan/benefit. It would reset, like you never had any fertility treatment done. Accumulation Information isn’t exchanged across employers and medical carriers. Think about it like this, if you exhaust your maximum out of pocket for the year for medical services, switch companies mid-year and join their medical plan, you’d have to restart and meet your deductible and maximum out of pocket all over again for that same calendar/plan year. Great question.

I’m following because I also need this answer. Sorry for hijacking the post!
The medication portion is a lifetime max. I just learned that one the hard way
That's interesting because the pharmacy I ordered from told me the medication part follows me and it wouldn't matter if I switched providers. Hmm... The medication is so expensive!

Thank you for clarifying! Does this mean one partner / spouse uses their benefits up for the couple… and then the other one uses different benefits (different employers but unsure if the plan is the same ie win or Progyny or whatever the options are) … this is permissible? Sorry for being naive
