Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I’d still suit up
Yeah I'm thinking so too Chief

Suit no tie
I hate “business casual”.
In NYC it can mean “tie is optional with your suit” whereas in LA it can mean “wear your nice flip flops”
Exactly! In Texas it's like.... My cowboy boots ok??
I would not wear a tie.
In person, yes.
Chief
For an interview, suit and tie is always correct.
Thanks Chief
Always dress to impress, and/or ask the recruiter ahead of time.
Better to be overdressed than under
True true
In my in-persons interviews I try to be better dressed than the interviewer. It gives me massive confidence to know I look better than the person in front of me. In some cases it could even be an icebreaker to start conversations.
It is good to look sharp. It does give you a big boost to be the best dressed in the room
Idk my last 3 interviews I took in a black hooded sweatshirt
Chief
Sounds like tech lol
Interview dress code is different than everyday dress code. Wear the tie

No tie if they told you it’s business casual.
Yes
