Additional Posts in Lawyers with ADHD
I’m not sure how this will impact this bowl, but it is worth pointing out the need to assess whether there should be concern for those in this bowl. While we all understand ADHD is something attorneys are completely capable of managing with legal positions, not everyone in the field agrees with that. https://joinfishbowl.com/post_va66ztgmkw

There’s no good rule of thumb. Each woman’s body, medical history (and subsequent pregnancy) is unique. The hive mind isn’t much help here, got to discuss this with your doc…
I dramatically decreased my dose before starting to try, then would stick to a low dose during follicular phase and stop after ovulation (or the comparable when I was going through IVF). After years of TTC, it became really burdensome. But the one time I had a successful live birth, I really didn’t need my meds once my estrogen got high enough. (Not enough attention is given to the relationship between estrogen and ADHD.)
Ultimately it will depend on your personal needs, current dose, and how the risks/benefits weigh for you specifically.
i didn’t, my perinatal psychiatrist determined risks from a low dose were greatly outweighed by the benefits. i got down to 20 mg vyvanse while TTC, went down to 10 mg when pregnant (didn’t take everyday or on weekends). My baby is 4.5 months old and i’m EBF and still on 10, still not taking daily (but not yet back to work).
What is TTC?
Trying to conceive
I came totally off during IVF and it was rough, but I haven’t missed them as much while pregnant (currently late third tri). If we hadn’t needed to do IVF, my OB was comfortable with me staying on a low dose of meds.
Best wishes for your retrieval!!
I didn’t stop taking my meds until after I found out I was pregnant. It took us almost a year to conceive and there’s no way I could have remained employed if I was off my meds the entire time.
That’s what I feared. I went through this with my first pregnancy but I was only at the firm for a few months before I got pregnant and wasn’t that busy yet. Now I’m slammed all the time and terrified.
