If you could envision the perfect world where your nonprofit's mission is fully realized, what does that world look like? For me, it is a place where medically complex kids and their families have wrap around resources throughout their lifespan, including, opportunies for respite, accessible mental health support for caregivers AND sibs, as well as plenty of opportunities for socialization and connection with other medically complex families.

I just wanted to reach out and let you all know I understand how tired and beat down we all feel at this point in the year. I’m feeling it too. I also know exactly how students can try us. What I’m working on every day though is to see my kids as God does… not the kids that know how to push buttons and drive me crazy, but as the beautiful lives they are, all deserving of the best we can give them every day. I know it’s not easy, but that’s what I’m working on.

One silver lining in all this is, in my case is being able to watch my daughter grow while wfh. It's amazing how in the first year of life so much happens that I for sure would of missed out.

Seen a few posts on people not having/hating on parents with kids. What is your rationale? I for one am excited to have 3 kids running around in the future! Anyone else?

3 years ago I distanced my long term love and chose my ambition to complete an MS and create something for both of us in hopes to get back to her as a grown independent man. Hi, I am a single-parent with a 9 year old daughter. Is anyone else dealing with same gender sleepovers with sexual exploration occurring? Exploring as in my daughter says outright “I am going to kiss you,” to her bestie before bed. Then after 15 minutes of giggling in bed I go to tell them to be quiet and see my daughter’s bestie is showing her buttcheeks to my daughter. I went through my gf’s phone and found out she had a crush on my best friend when we first started dating (over a year ago). I suspected this at first but it hurts to have it confirmed and see her telling her friends about him. I’m not sure how I should feel since I went out of line to look through her phone.

It’s week 5 for me of the breakup and even though I had a full and fun weekend with friends and people I love, I woke up today so so sad because I wanted to text my ex. I just feel overall so defeated and exhausted from sadness and unmotivated at work :(

My dad who lives in Asia just announced that he had a medical issue. I’m starting to enter the age where I’m going to take care of him financially. It’s a $2,000 hospital bill which in the US is nothing compared to what it represents there (which he can’t afford). He’s going to be fine! Just wanted to share with this group as many of you can understand what it feels like to support your parents when they’re old, not the other way around. I feel so blessed I can help him. 🙏🏽

Any tips for organizing a bedroom, closet, dresser & bathroom? My teen has IADHD, and low executive functioning. Her room looks like a land mine. Clean clothes are mixed in with dirty, her desk is a disaster, she won’t let go of clothes she’s outgrown, drawers are open with clothes hanging out. A therapist said to close her door if we don’t want to see it but it’s more than that. She needs this important life skill & I don’t know how to help. Easier to organize w/o her but that’s not a solution.

Anyone have any similar experience or insight? My boyfriend asked for space/not really together anymore and he says he started to become nervous about being in a long term committed relationship. Even tho he said he saw me as long term & I’m his best friend and he loves me but why then? Does space help you guys figure it out? (Help / advice please😞)
