About to head to the HC for a role in ProdOps and Strategy in Mountain View. 4 YoE at MBB, no competing offers. Recruiter gave me a form that asks expected comp.
Levels.fyi has only PM salaries. I haven’t been told the level but expect it to be L4.
What total comp would you expect for this role? Any advice would be super helpful, as I’m a bit lost.

If I got an offer at each MBB I’d write a better case prep book and put Victor Cheng out of business.
BCG. Nearly as prestigious as McK w/o the baggage of having a hand in ramping the US opioid crisis.
Bain - I like PE and not working for the devil. Plus I heard that bcg is getting rough
They are extremely short staffed so going through some rough crunch, but pretty sure crunches are getting better.
Bain bcz its cool
McKinsey since they place the best for exit opps
I don’t think there’s much of any difference between us and McKinsey in the US. Bain is definitely bigger in PE and a little smaller overall so somewhat different but overall is more similar than different I think.
I’m happy here. Hours have been worse during Covid. My friends at the others are happy too. We are all happier than my friends in banking.
I think there can be more differences office to office and practice area to practice area than people make out to be (bcg strong in healthcare, Bain in consumer, etc.). Would explore those more deeply if you ended up in the position of having to make a decision between the 3.
Ultimately all of them enable you to do what you and I would argue and it’ll mostly be a function of how you perform once there
It’d be tough decision between McK and BCG. Leaning more towards McK
Bain without a doubt. Least toxic
Bain, I think theyre the least miserable.

Bain due to culture and private equity work.
Comp, exit opps, wlb are quite similar
Either BCG or Bain. Not McKinsey!
Small sample size but my friends at BCG are generally happier with their work life than my McKinsey friends even though they have longer hours
Bain bc I’m suffer too much from imposter syndrome to pick mck. And bcg is kinda lame
Depends on what you want to get out of the experience?
Want to exit after 2-3 years? McK great for exit opportunities
Want to stay on be a partner? McK partners probably make the most
Generally have heard that Bain partners make the most on avg
BCG...Worked with ppl from BCG and loved their level of professionalism and modesty. Worked with McKinsey folks and got an elitist vibe. Bain is know for PE and that’s not where I want to go.
BCG. We have better benefits and a nice culture from what I understand of friends at other firms. Comp and exits are pretty much the same.
