Are Deloitte benefits good?
You are not entitled to 3 months maternity leave by law. Unless eligible for FMLA, which you almost certainly won’t be, you’ll be eligible for whatever the firm policy provides. I previously worked for a state government and got 6 weeks medical leave (8 if had a c-section). Find out before accepting and get it in writing. I was told I could take 12 weeks verbally, which was retracted. Also, if you take any unpaid leave, any other benefits you get will almost certainly stop. If I had it to do over again, never would have changed jobs while pregnant.
That’s true, for some reasons I thought it was a law. It should be a law. 🤦🏾♀️
Exactly each company is different... you are entitled to 3 months of ML by law, the question you should really be asking is “ Paid Maternity Leave”... Most firms have ST disability that covers a percentage for a certain period. Reach out to HR.
Hmmm okay good to know. Now if you’re covered with paid maternity leave from your employer can you also do short term disability?
ML and STD usually run concurrently so if you are only eligible for 6 weeks STD, standard after delivery, and ML is 12 weeks then you can be out for 12 weeks total. Basically the STD portion is just how your employer classifies the time internally and doesn't change anything for you.
