Early on, my career was my number one priority. Then I got married and then my son came along. That little man flipped my whole world upside down. I will do anything for him, and I can't wait to get home to him. Now, I'm family all the way. I know my boy will grow up way too quickly so I'm spending as much time with him as I can.
I wish it was my family but feel forced that it is my career. I am trying to change that by finding a new job with better work/life balance but the job market is tough right now. I got my current job before having my son and loved the fast pace and demand. Now I see that my priorities have changed and my work isnt use to me not being there 24/7 and accessible at all times. I created a monster. I also feel like the younger generation has a different perspective on work. I am 40. I believe in hard work but also think work should not be my life and when I go home, my work should stay at work. I should be able to spend time with my family. I don't want to get old and look back and regret the time I didn't spend with them.
