I lived in philly for two years and grew up and currently live in the dc area. Pros for philly is that rent is cheaper. Pros for dc everything else.
I'm in Philly (have lived here thirteen tests), and it's definitely a big town for both industries. There's a very large population of transplants from abroad here, lots of great food, history and job opportunities. If you're open for weekly work travel, it's also a great location that's central to New York and D.C. if you don't get staffed locally.
Philly is less douchey
Are you in our commercial or federal practice? If you're in commercial and want to work in life sciences, I would suggest philly office - we have a pretty big practice there and a lot of clients nearby. McLean is almost as close, but I believe we have fewer practitioners aligned to life sciences based out of McLean.
Pittsburgh is a good office in the firm for healthcare. Lots of healthcare leaders in 'burgh
Thank you
But if I live in Arlington, it should be okay right ?
The Mclean office has convergehealth which is pretty big into life sciences. Look into that.
I'm commercial! I've heard Philadelphia office is mainly for Project controllers and stuff! Is it a good office for someone who wants to stay for long ? (5-6 years)
If you're commercial don't go to Philly unless you really like the city. Deloitte McLean is a good commercial office, speaking from experience
I want to stick to the north east! I just want to be in an office where I can achieve long term success and which has good projects.
Can you tell me more about the McLean office? And the projects there ?
Health care is a pretty big network. That and financial services. For Life sciences specifically you'd be better off In NYC or Chicago
Anyone know the possibility of switching from federal in Rosslyn to commercial in McLean?
