Any open OCM roles within this network?
Career wise - what would be best? A change management role at Crowe working government software upgrades Or Change Management role at a name brand childcare company? The culture fit at childcare company is amazing.. remote, unlimited PTO Crowe , I'm not sure since it's working with government.

First, congrats. That sounds like a good gig.
Second, just manage your imposter syndrome. It happens to all of us who are stepping above our past experience.
Third, have your tools in your tool box ready to go. Plan your approach - are you more of a Prosci person or a Kotter person. Which templates do you have at the ready. What technology do you feel most comfortable using to support your CM efforts.
Lastly, enjoy the ride! This is going to be fun. Stay positive, as much as you can. Don’t lie and don’t whitewash.
Congratulations
Thank you:) any advice for consulting at this level so I don’t feel like a chump😅
My advice - think about the strategic aspects of OCM and the tactical. If you are building capability for the CIO and his/her team, a lot of what you will need to do is align stakeholders (not just below him/her but peers too) and work with him/her on how he builds coalitions of support with other executives on what he is doing. The amount of time you spend on advisory to him/her and other leaders as well will increase while the tactical OCM work may decrease (or you will need others to help you there).
160 as a 1099 is equivalent to senior level not executive work. 1099 means they have no wrap rates associated with your pay such as taxes, health insurance, 401k, paying for PTO, etc. but congrats!
To put things in perspective, remember, you have to pay for your own health insurance plus pay estimated taxes quarterly - which can run five figures. My tax guy calculated that I have to make a 5-figure annual SEP-IRA contribution every spring to offset my taxes.
But also, Bigtime Congrats!!
OP, would love to hear a status update. How's it going?
It seems like everyone is trying to establish an OCM office these days! Great experience to have on your resume. Nebulous with unclear direction is unfortunately par for the course when you're establishing a new function. It sounds like you're doing well and stretching. Congrats!
