My favorite coworker

Hello everyone! I recently pivoted from working in advertising to working at an early-stage fintech startup. I'm looking to speak with business finance leaders who manage corporate cash and credit lines for their companies to learn more about your tools and your approach to cash management. I'll buy you lunch/coffee for your time.
If interested shoot me an email me at kathryn@crescent.app! And thank you!!

I focused on my work to much which degraded my progress over the years, leadership loved it, my paycheck didn't. I was always working jobs 1-2 ranks higher which they will tell you is normal.
My advice looking back is give 25 to your job, 25 to career progression and 50 to education. Take advantage of your tuition assistance and buy a home every year with your VA Loans (yes I see your rank, VA doesn't care what your rank is) and rent or flip them. Never think you can't and never listen to the nay sayers. Surround yourself with like-minded people even if they are higher rank.
I've seen E4s on their 3rd home purchase and closing on a masters by the time they come up for reenlistment. Be that guy.
I enlisted in the Army Reserve under an OCS contract:
Enlisted as E4 -> spent 11 months as E4 (before Basic, during Basic, during OCS).
Administratively promoted to E5 during OCS for Pay
Commissioned as 2LT (12 weeks of OCS)
Promoted to 1LT (18 months of being 2LT)
Waiting for CPT board results (2 years 10 months as 1LT and counting)
Amazing how you just keep climbing the ranks! How is life in the Army Reserves? May I also know why you chose that over National Guard?
Thank you for the advice, especially the VA Loans part. I never even thought about using it every year. That's a big help especially since homes are so expensive nowadays.
I Enlisted in the Navy as an ET. I got automatic E4 as soon as I finished school and got to my first command at a little over a year in. I made E5 off of the exam at my 4yr mark.
