I’m curious what other people with ADHD do to get in the zone/right mental space for a workday? I’ll start - I like to work on whatever crafting thing is my current hyper focus (right now it’s embroidery). So every morning after I take my meds and before I log on, I sit outside and craft. What about you all?

I sometimes do puzzles or games.

I try to save all my fun things for a reward and motivator towards the end of the day. Helps me have something to look forward to.

I really enjoy listening to a meditation and use my morning time to prep any to do lists and try to review what’s needed for the day so I feel like I’m getting in the zone as my meds ramp up.

I feel like I’ve been neglecting this bowl. 😔 I’ve been doing keto with 16/8 intermittent fasting for the past month. By the time it hits my eating window, I’m starving and I don’t have time to make instagrammable meals. I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.

Any tips for organizing a bedroom, closet, dresser & bathroom? My teen has IADHD, and low executive functioning. Her room looks like a land mine. Clean clothes are mixed in with dirty, her desk is a disaster, she won’t let go of clothes she’s outgrown, drawers are open with clothes hanging out. A therapist said to close her door if we don’t want to see it but it’s more than that. She needs this important life skill & I don’t know how to help. Easier to organize w/o her but that’s not a solution.

Has anyone addressed their ADHD with their boss directly? For example, I have a really hard time with long meetings. I can’t sit still and pay attention and I wonder if sharing this with my boss would be helpful or if it would raise red flags. Funny enough, my job is very detail oriented.
