I have two years of automotive/aerospace manufacturing experience and am looking for new opportunities. I recently applied to a Solution Engineer - Commercial Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy (MAE) role at Salesforce, and it sounds like a great fit. Is anyone willing to offer me a referral or advice on how to move forward in the hiring process? Salesforce

I went from Salesforce to Microsoft and then back to Salesforce. Didn’t enjoy Microsoft, poor product market fit, less skilled AEs and it’s a very large machine. Great company for a lot of people but didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as an SE at Salesforce. Pay was higher but boomeranging got me even more. 340k with 8 YOE
Not really. It’s obviously highly political. Also dynamics isn’t a great product
I left for another company back in the covid era, it wasn't great. I'd echo Microsoft2's comments about poor market fit, AE skills, also noted poor product marketing thought leadership and generally poor product vision. The SE leadership and investment in resources was less too, you had to build everything yourself which was way more effort.
I don't regret leaving, it worked out from a comp perspective but wasn't a good experience overall. The RSUs were basically worth nothing compared to initial value. Sometimes the devil you know is better unless there's a real passion driving you.
How many YOE under your belt OP? Would help field your Q
Right but how many yoe total including other roles post undergrad
How’s pay there?
I was exploring Salesforce for a possible future gig
I moved to becoming an AE, my W2 doubled as a result. Highly recommend it!
Hi there! Im at ServiceNow at the moment and currently interviewing for an SE role at Salesforce to test the market. Any advice you can share about working there? Good to see the comments are leaning in the positive direction for SF
