Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Hi Guys, wats up in Volvo. I am recent joiner to volvo,my manager is insisting I come to office 2 days a week and relocate to base location, he is insisting this is HR policy. Though I asked him I can work 8 days from office in a month together & rest from my home, but he is not accepting. Any advises how to mitigate this issue. Volvo

I have always felt that if a company doesn’t value me enough to give me job security and payment that I’m worth it’s not worth staying. Don’t dangle an offer to get it - ask first and if they say no, leave.

I’d take a hard look at your offer(s) from any other agencies and think about how it might impact your portfolio. I assure you that there are plenty of places with better creative opportunities that’d still enable the purchase of a home. Then again, if you’re happy there, take your offer to leadership and let them know you want the same thing.

Ha! Listen to VP1, over me, actually. They probably know better about the subject.
From experience, it’s never a good idea to counter. Either to convert to FTE, for a raise, etc. As soon as you do, your record is scarred. And you’ll be the first to go come layoffs.
As both a contractor at other companies and an ex-Unicorn, my advice is take the best offer you get. Digitas isn’t a top tier agency like they used to be. Your portfolio will thank you for leaving.
Try to leave on amazing terms—always leave the door open in the future. And if possible do try to honor your contract term, but that’s less of a priority given DLBI doesn’t know the word loyalty.
Hope this helps you navigate the waters. I’ll reiterate, given they’re a network agency it’s super important to leave on good terms—so you’re rehire eligible in the Publicis network.
Appreciate the help everyone. This is truly valuable advice for me — I’m grateful for it.
