Haha!goodwill? In B4? You will be forgotten the next day and that is not a comment on you.
Lol 40%? Run while you can
No brainer. Can always boomerang back to D. And with a higher salary. What I did. Left at 120K came back at 160k 10 months later
Go!
Take it and run and enjoy a normal life
You should go. 40% raise is serious business. Show me one partner that would stay if offered the same.
Run in that direction!
You have to be really underpaid for a 40% raise on a non manager position
@M1 - currently at $125k, hitting $170 in new role
@D1 - Not underpaid, specialized role
Agreed... Go. You can always bounce back to consulting later.
What is with you guys and the network all the time. It’s not like if you leave your network disappears into think air - if they do then they were really not your “network” in the first place.
But, should I not be considering at all the good will and network I've built up at Deloitte? I do love the firm, as well as the people.
Dude if you’re coming in at a lower level at the client, that means there are more levels above you to climb. So you will have an opportunity to get a nice bump fairly quickly as opposed to if you came in at a higher salary. It’s in your best interest to be a level lower
40% of what?
Stay. If you had a good year, you will get 20k or so in bonus and 8-10k increase. You will get manager on resume. In September you can discuss with client again or have more options. Pay in consulting increases at much faster pace. Overall the 40% is smaller when you factor in upcoming raise and bonus. Not worth it if you love the work and the firm.
This is a no brainer man.
Oh absolutely I’d take that
D2 - Just out of curiosity, did you try to negotiate a raise before leaving? Did you leave with the plan to boomerang back?
I’m in the same deal. 70% increase and I still had to debate leaving consulting. I just wish I knew how long it would take me to get to the pay equivalent pay of my industry offer on the consulting side.
What non manager role is 170k?
