I'm itching to start a side gig to boost my income and explore other interests, but also want to avoid burnout. Any PAs out there successfully juggling a side hustle with their clinical work? I'm thinking about telemedicine consults, medical writing/editing, or even health coaching. What's worked for you, and how do you manage your time effectively? Tips and inspiration welcome!

I've found telemedicine to be a great side hustle. It offers flexibility and allows me to work from home on my own schedule. I typically dedicate a few evenings or weekends each month to telemedicine consults, and it's been a fantastic way to supplement my income without sacrificing too much personal time.

Seriously can't even imagine having enough energy to think about a side hustle - never mind do one. Good luck!

I've thought about this too! I am thinking about remote work but would be interested in something not directly patient facing... if you find anything that is promising, let me know!

Hey guys! I just received luckily enough two offer from two big companies: one as a Senior UX in SAP Concur and another one at Microsoft as a Designer II in Microsoft Teams. The role matters until a certain point to me. What does it matter is career and learning perspectives. Do you have any previous experience with one of the two companies? All feedback or comment is very much appreciated, thank you!

I've been a government attorney for nearly three years now and have worked in the same office/division since I passed the bar. I've yet to receive a promotion other than two cost of living increases (in sum, a pay increase of 6k over 3 years). I know this is meager, but I'm mostly ok with it, I just want to see some recognition. On the other hand, it's hard for me to imagine negotiating because (given my inexperience), I don't feel I'd be able to do better anywhere else. Any advice?

Hello all,

I'm a PA in the PNW working for a private group staffing ED's in several hospitals. Recently the group has asked the PA's to take on a couple new roles (triaging and rapid track from triage i.e. straightforward ESI 4, 5). With these changes the PA's are considering asking for increased pay in the form of an addition of a COLA (cost of living adjustment) to our normal salary. Was wondering if any other PA's in the ED have these in their contracts and at what rate.

-Thanks
