I’m most comfortable with moving around places to sit / changing my posture at work e.g. 3 hours spent at standing desk then the next on the couch.

I just wonder how ADHD ppl work on client site...

I’ve been working on client sites for 18 months. I take a LOT or short “toilet breaks” and “coffee breaks” just to get up from my desk and move around every 45 mins or so.

Three weeks into being on client site now, I’ve been doing that and it’s very helpful haha

My advice is to find ways to re-engage with what’s going on around you. I have the same issue of concentration and to make it worse I always feel the need to stretch my arms every hour. I use our time in between meetings to get it all out of my system.

I will be working on-site for the next few months and from what I heard, the staff there can all see us working in our room with glass doors. It’s not like I can’t work if I’m sitting still in the same position but my concentration goes down..

There are many common symptoms of Burnout. E.g., Changes in sleeping patterns, negativity, low energy, lack of motivation, not caring about work. The list can go on for a while.

But they all fall under the umbrella of three major symptoms:

1. Exhaustion
2. Cynicism
3. Professional Efficacy

Are you ignoring your symptoms? If not, which one do you have?

You will be left with no choice other than leaving TCS.

Do you know how burned out you are exactly?

According to psychologists Herbert Freudenberger (who invented the term "Burnout") and Gail North, there are 12 stages.

Burnout has a wide range, from "I can't wait for the day to be over" to having a complete mental or physical collapse.

Make sure you pay attention to your symptoms and not lose track of who you are and where you need to be mentally, physically, and emotionally.

I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to limit distractions during the work day and none of it has worked. Working from home has only made it 100 times worse because now I know there are other more interesting things to be distracted by all around me. What do you do to hold focus during working hours? What will get me to be able to work for longer than 35 minutes without getting distracted?

Has anyone gotten to the point where it is physically painful to try and concentrate? Not sure what to do at this point; had Ritalin for a bit, but I adjusted in like 10 days before the benefits went away. Now I’m scared I’ll just keep getting worse

What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)
