I've been a government attorney for nearly three years now and have worked in the same office/division since I passed the bar. I've yet to receive a promotion other than two cost of living increases (in sum, a pay increase of 6k over 3 years). I know this is meager, but I'm mostly ok with it, I just want to see some recognition. On the other hand, it's hard for me to imagine negotiating because (given my inexperience), I don't feel I'd be able to do better anywhere else. Any advice?

But keep getting told by recruiters that I don't have enough experience to be a Consultant or Manager but that I have too much experience to enter in every level such as a Senior Associate. Just one rejection after another, even when applying with internal referrals from Director or Partner levels. What am I doing wrong?

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Looking for opinions. I’m an IW with 2 yrs experience working from home at a Fortune 500 company w/ excellent benefits, target salary 75k. I was previously offered a job at another company where the 75k salary was guaranteed for the first year. Most people make much more than this once their comp fully ramps up, but, I would have to work in the office. I declined the offer, but now the CEO wants to meet with me several months later. Would I be crazy if I asked for 100k guaranteed salary?
