I’m not sure how this will impact this bowl, but it is worth pointing out the need to assess whether there should be concern for those in this bowl. While we all understand ADHD is something attorneys are completely capable of managing with legal positions, not everyone in the field agrees with that. https://joinfishbowl.com/post_va66ztgmkw

I worked with a career coach many years ago and it was worth every penny. I was really struggling just like you were and helping me find what I was really good at made a huge difference. I no longer make mistakes like that because I actually like what I do and care about the work product.
Any recommendations?
I saw a woman who is a career coach and ADHD coach for lawyers speak at a CLE last week. I really liked her and was planning to look into her services but haven’t yet. Obv can’t vouch for her but I got a good vibe lol. Her name is Annie Little. Good luck!

If you were able to avoid making those same types of mistakes would your work product still suck? I’ve known plenty of lawyers who struggled practicing because they were trying to do what “everyone else does.” If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, you’ll conclude it sucks.

I live by that quote - sooo good and sooo true!
Listen, there are so many types of law and lawyers that it ain't even funny. Don't try to be all things to all people. Not everyone is cut out to be a criminal defense attorney, a personal injury attorney, domestic/family law, real estate law, contract law, tax law, etc. Pick one or two, specialize in what interests you. Remember what you did best in law school. If you got through law school, you did something right. You know what they call the guy who gives up? The loser.
Sorry to hear that you've been feeling this way, it's not easy to try coming to terms with uncomfortable truths but they can very often be liberating if we embrace your implications. I'm not going to try to convince you that you're in the right line of work, I don't know you enough to say what's true or not. However, what would you like to be doing instead? Is there any part of the job that you did find appealing? Maybe something you gave up on? Something you've seen other people do that seems fulfilling?
I’d be happy to speak to you about some of things I did to improve. I was in a very similar boat.
