I’m so tired of working a 9-5 in consulting. I’m exhausted always. Days start at 6am, meetings all day and working till past 10 most days just to catch up on work. I go to sleep anxious about the next day at work and it’s just so mentally exhausting. I have to take 10 mins each morning to remind myself I will make it through the day and I just want to quit most times.
I have a side business that brings in about 60k a year and this has been keeping me balanced. Anyone else feel this drained ?

How do you get ahead on work during the weekends? Do you have a no work on the weekends policy?

Can anyone share their current work/life balance at big 4? Estimated hour range? Very interested in making the move however I would like to avoid constant 70+ hr weeks

I’m one of the only attorneys in my Texas firm that had electricity, internet, and water this week. I was warm and comfortable but still could not get any work done because things going on in the outside world are distracting. When I try to work, I feel like I can barely hold a thought in my mind before I get the “wait, what am I doing again?” feeling. Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.
So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. Hello! Looking at an opportunity with established startup in UK that's just been acquired by a large co. I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). I'm not sure how to reply to them because I have a feeling that my requirement may be out of their range and while I don't want to undercut my value, I also don't want to be cut out of the process because it's an interesting co.
