I’m sure like many of us in here, I’ve been feeling a little extra anxious at work. Between mass layoffs and just the general state of the world, it feels a little extra scary.

How do you manage your anxiety at work?

URGENT: Can anyone refer me for an entry-level software engineer/ Trainee Software engineer role (Java preferred)? I need a job on an urgent basis as my current organization has asked me to put down my papers due to changed business requirements (read layoffs) and has given me 30 days to find a new job. And I would really appreciate you guys if you can provide me with any help in this situation.

Had a glowing fantastic performance review last year. This year no review, just a meeting with managing partner and HR to tell me I am fired and to leave now. No bad performance. Is it just the money?

Am I the only person who has been super disgusted to Fishbowl’s response to the Meta layoffs? I’ve been laid off twice in my career but I’m not mad at 11000 people who no longer have jobs just cause they got decent severance while I got a week on my way out. Facebook is hot garbage but I’m pretty sure 0 out of the 11000 were making those decisions. So why are you upset about it? Urgh. Y’all are weird.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞

I'm feeling a lot of anger towards my manager (now he's acting normal but there were moments where he was condescending/dismissive/mocked my and others work/arrogant/said stuff was "wrong" constantly/belittling the difficulty of tasks etc. in the past project).

I’m concerned about the surge in omicron. I packed everything, just in case. Q2 is ending, a new quarter is starting. We get new kids each quarter as a Specials teacher.
It’s stressful at quarter changeovers.
In going back after break, it’s too much of a contrast. I cannot sleep, I wake up in the middle of the night, “for the day”, about 6 nights a week. To stay structured, I go to “Surrender yoga” daily. I’m good to go do 1 more thing after yoga. I feel accomplished. Couching causes anxiety.
