Ok travelers, what was your most surreal experience on a flight?

Guy just opened the cabin door to try to get on my flight after flashing his boarding pass through the window to cabin crew. Immediately arrested. So far, nothing even comes close for me.

Can you still get promoted on time if you don't meet the utilization metric during promotion year?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Anyone have any recommendations for an office chair that’s super comfortable for someone that doesn’t sit like a normal human? I always sit either cross legged, knees up, etc.

Automatic red flag to have an engagement kickoff just before the holidays, receive emails at all hours of the day (to include weekends/holidays), be told there’s a lot to do but “it’ll be a great opportunity”, and then be told leadership wants people to prioritize work life balance? Would love to get your input on this but how do you guys feel about consulting, especially with a STEM background? I have worked on studies where we make recommendations that anybody with a basic scientific/engineering knowledge will say “yea, no f-ing sh*t. We want to do that too. But it’s impossible to achieve from technical perspective with the money we have. You don’t think we already thought of that?”

A recruiter at another B4 gave me a number much lower than what I’m currently making. Should I tell them how much im making now, which is admittantly at the very top of the SC band, or counter with a range that’s more than I’m making? I hesitate to just throw out current salary + 20% bc I’d be asking for almost $190k for a SC role and I know that would be quite a huge ask for a SC @ B4, even for tech

This job is miserable without travel.
