In simple steps, how do you use the Backdoor Roth IRA?

Confused on how to contribute pre-tax dollars, then convert it to Roth.

Thanks!

What’s a good, practical tax book to read for someone who knows nothing about taxes? I feel like I should familiarize myself with them but don’t know where to start/find the topic very overwhelming and dense even as a finance attorney. I accepted a role in New York City but my direct manager said I can work from home in Boston instead. My understanding is that I would be paying NY taxes, but not MA taxes. Can anyone here confirm? Also, would my employer have to incur any additional taxation because I am remote? They’re a really small firm and I worry that this sort of thing could be prohibitive for them despite my manager’s approval.

Hi guys. I have a query with regards to the Income tax proof submission.

So I have claimed exemptions on the following-
1) HRA
2) 5 year term deposit(fixed deposit) under Section 80C
3) Interest on education loan under Section 80E

I have also provided previous employment details.

Guys I didn't know that we have to submit declaration forms as well. Can you please tell me which are the declaration forms that I would need to fill and submit??

Thanks in advance :)

When it comes to stocks , I am investing in index funds with 8-10 years strategy . The typical index funds make 8-10% annually . However , when I live at MSFT , Apple they have increased 350% in last 5 years . What stocks should I invest with at least 5 years in mind ? Something safe but with returns better than index funds. What would your best 5 for next 5 years ? I will make my M1 pie based on the serious inputs here !
