Regular international travel in business class
Last year I flew to my midwest client city almost every single week of the year and luckily had a single international trip which barely pushed me over to Delta Platinum (in November). This year I started with 3 international business trips in Jan-Mar and hit Delta Platinum for 2020 in March. Then I went back to my regular client flights and will not hit diamond till November / December at this rate. Status is nuts and the only way to really get top level is: 1) Weekly transcontinental flights 2) International business flights (at least 4) 3) Partner/Director multiple flights per week
It's buying first class tickets. I hit 130k last year, but didn't have the spend on United metal. I had three international business class flights that pushed me over. The spend would have gotten me Global Service.
Delta diamond - I did coast to coast travel for almost two years, and then another two years of travel from the east coast to a small Midwest city that requires a connection both ways
Naaah fam. EP here and I got it through a connecting flight in and out of my client. At the rate of 4 flights a week, it takes me 30 weeks to hit EP annually. NBD
Segments is the worst way to earn status
I’m a delta diamond and this is how i achieve it consistently: I have a delta reserve CC that I max out to get 30k extra mqms, travel from NYC to Denver at least twice a month and travel twice a year transatlantic in economy (with global upgrade )
I've done it through regular travel from SFO to DFW (AA Exec Plat).
Same. Due to hit it again in a few weeks
Weekly 1000+ mile flights
1,000+ mile flights won’t cut it for Diamond Medallion; you would need a minimum of 1,202 miles each way and to fly all 52 weeks of the year
My manager whose hit Delta Diamond every year and was was actually invited to Delta 360 last year said he usually pays for his personal international flights which helps a lot. That’s on top of flying every week for work
Weekly work flights of just under 1000 each way. Some transcon alt travel weekends, 2-3 super cheap Europe trips from the East coast (personal travel), one Thanksgiving trip a year (such as South America, personal travel), 15k bonus mqm from the reserve credit card. Delta Diamond.
My 1K was a grind. I never took direct flights, and worked on more than one location during part of the year.
Easiest way is 2-3 transcontinental biz class flights + normal tracel
