Interviewed for two companies and accepted the offer from company A. Company B was moving way slower so A’s offer deadline was approaching and I chose that one. Now I told company B I will have to decline further interviews as I have decided to pursue a diff opportunity. In response they asked where was I going, how do I politely say no? Why are they asking?

I saw some sales managers discussing hiring strategies, especially for entry level roles (e.g. SDR, BDR).

One strategy that came up was having the applicant do 90 minutes of cold calling into real prospects with the hiring manager coaching.

What do you think of this approach? Would be curious to hear from both hiring manager perspectives and from candidate perspectives.

Big4 has clear trajectory and interesting work.

I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?
