Interviewed with a panel, then about 4 days later, I am now being asked to interview with the same panel members again. The only difference seems to be the timeframe, which went form 40 mins to 1 hr. Anyone with experience with this? Gov't interviews, in my experience, don't usually have 2 rounds with the same people. . .a bit confused.

I interviewed at KPMG on 11/14 and got a verbal offer the next day but since then waiting to hear from them. Been following up continuously but the partners are not replying it seems. In the meanwhile i have an offer from BT offering 90k for 4 yrs of experience which seems to be fair. I am just unsure whether to accept the offer as I was waiting for kpmg reply as I want B4 on my resume which apparently is a big deal. Is BT also good on resume for future employers ??

What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? I applied for two positions at a district court that say ‘open until filled’. I’m going on a cruise in a few weeks and don’t want to miss hearing from HR.
The posting says due to the high number of applicants do not follow up, you will be contacted if chosen for an interview.
How much will it hurt me to email and explain that I will be unavailable from 9/5 to 9/16 but I am extremely interested and don’t want to miss hearing from them if I have a chance for the position?
