There is no “Consulting” at EY. It’s all labeled as Advisory. Specific practices within Advisory determine whether you’re in consulting or advisory type work.
How about IT Advisory under FSO?
OP, the distinction between advisory and consulting is a made-up thing that only exists at Deloitte
Omg. Do some research.
Only Deloitte sperates consulting (MC, HC, tech) from their advisory (cyber, IT audit, etc.)
At KPMG, PWC, EY - the MC, tech, and HC work all fall under different groups in advisory.
So depending on the consulting work you do at Deloitte it will transfer into an advisory practice at the other 3.
Someone's a bit fiesty
Our advisory is all consulting. Risk vs PI (performance improvement) is the main distinction. Which group?
I focus on HR implementations at Deloitte. Technically part of HR Transformation.
Advisory at Deloitte is a risk focused group that falls under a different legal entity. In most areas in advisory the pay is much lower than consulting, however Cyber Risk has similar pay.
Advisory at EY refers to the consulting group, but includes typical advisory "risk" work. The individual group you're applying for will determine the type of work (consulting vs risk)
What is the difference between advispry and consulting? I was told once that advisory makes less money, but aside from that, I don't know the difference.
