I would argue employment is the easiest area of law I’ve had to learn in-house. This seems very doable and for me, you’d be a very interesting candidate for this role.

Thank you! How would you recommend speaking about generalist BL lit experience as a transferable skill for employment? Should I lean on the range and complexity of matters I tackle as a generalist, plus a common-sense “protect the business” approach? I don’t want to minimize the employment area if it’s something the HM cares about a lot.
Did any of your litigation matters touch on employment even a little? E.g. labor dispute, harassment. You can make that stretch. Transferable skills are research, issue spotting, drafting (policies). I also had big law lit background, I agree employment is not difficult, there is tons of hands on info and digests out there, newsletters that keep you up to date, etc.

Im a corporate and employment atty.
Most of my work is counseling--terminations, leaves, option matters, overtime, misclassification.
Im spending a ton of time on international expansion, policies, how to manage across countries (teaching managers what the law is in X country/how to performance manage).
I also manage and update a ton of policies.
Occasionally we have investigations or litigation, but not often. My job is to pay people to go away.
My background is in M&A and venture, but I was previously a solo in house counsel at growing tech companies, so I taught myself employment (and commercial, and privacy).
