PgM (program manager) has always been much lower than PM (Product Manager) and TPM (Technical Program Manager). The hiring bar for the latter two is much higher and those $300k+ TC you see will be for those.
Recruiters will typically tell you the base comp range for the level and role, but in the end it will also depend on your interview performance and YOE. 130 sounds like the base limit but the comp will often involve 4 years of RSUs of something like $200-300k plus an annual performance bonus %.
Is this for Google Process Mgr role? If so what’d they quote, also what region, as it depends on that too (ie Cali vs Chicago, etc)
Acn1 how much does that global process mgr role pay? I'm interviewing next month. Thanks!!
Base is only one part of your pay. Ask the recruiter for total compensation.
When they say amazon engineers make 200k its total comp. amazon base caps at 140 something.
Sorry yes I stand corrected. My point was that it is under 200
Does product manager, strategy and engineers get paid more? I see 200k + for those roles easily but the base they gave me is even lower than what’s im making today
Don’t know about product manager or strategy, but second year software engineers make more than 200K at Amazon, who pays the lowest amongst the big tech.
That’s total, not base.
