Tata Consultancy I am a manager in Capgemini... have an offer frm TCS. the designation being offered is Assistant Consultant.. 9.8 years experience( 5 yrs with Cap) Even though I am getting a package of 25Lakhs.. it seems like a demotion in designation.. Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. Is it a good idea to still switch with the counter offer from Cg Capgemini Tata Consu

Not super technical, need solid statistic analysis skills to be good, but basic understanding of sql, relational data base models, and be able to pick up coding language basics are great starting points.
Analyst is noun in the consulting industry, and not often associated with the verb definition of the word.
No
Not really, although data analysts at a big tech company requires superb SQL skills. So you may not need to master multiple stacks but at least be able to bang out queries
I think you can make it as technical as you want. As someone who does do developing here and there as an analyst, I’d say as long as you have a basic understanding about what you’re analyzing, you’ll be good.
Agree with comments above. Data analyst is too general and has different meanings. Data Scientist on the other hand is much more technical. For both though, a solid understand of data, data flow, coding (sql, python, R, or even Alteryx) is good. Tools such as PowerPivot, Power Bi, Tableau, Qlik, and other data visualization tools are things you should be strong in, and if not at least know how best to communicate requirements to those developers for most simply displaying to business users what you are communicating. In both data analyst and data science you hypothesize, test theories, explore and get dirty with data, and maybe 20% of the time find something great to report on.
