Lol I joined in Nov... still haven’t been on a project ... my advice... talk with your RM every day on how you are networking. Then have a phone call with your coach asking for their advance on what ever you can think of. Our utilization doesn’t matter first year. I am taking this to learn/study data viz from the free classes Deloitte offers from LinkedIn
Thanks D5!
Broader answer: no. Not even after your first year. I’ve had Exp. Hire C’s and SC’s whose recruiters talked a big game about bonus %s that were higher than their level even allowed. My recruiter did the same.* In the end, it’s who you know in the Panel.
*And got promoted
Keep networking for your next job away from daddy D. Enjoy the paycheck for now
A bonus is not a given. If that’s how it was described then they were wrong. No one is guaranteed a bonus, it’s based on individual and firm performance.
Is there any Util that’s too low ? like 10% ?
Lol
Well, I don’t disagree with comments above.. but isn’t it standard that offers say “0-x%” as bonus exactly to justify the crappy payout?
Well for me with the amount of bonus they offered me, the total compensation was 10% higher than the job I left for D but if I get jacked on bonuses for utilization or something else then I will be taking a paycut to be at D
What level are you? I came in as manager and was 100% on my own to get staffed.
Bonuses are a range because they are incentives. The offer letter would state the low range of "0" as others have said.
First year you get a little break, but not going to get close to top range of your bonus. Especially if you haven't worked on a project long-term.
Also it depends on when in the performance year that you joined too - I'm not sure if joining in after Jan makes you ineligible or not but should also be in offer letter.
I'd set your expectations around the 5-7% range and maybe you will be pleasantly surprised.
So you’re utilization is low and you’re trying to achieve a high bonus?
The bonus percentage they give you in recruiting is a maybe. It depends on how your group is doing, utilization, & performance. Always go for base over bonus
Be careful as eyes are on the bench, they track the weeks available and if you are doing anything to contribute to the firm while you are there! You might get a bye for now, but PYE ends in March, review happen in April and game on after that..
