Chris Krebs was fired at DHS today... very bad move and it’s gonna take a while for his replacement to gain the same trust and confidence within the cybersecurity community. January 20th can’t come soon enough.
A friend was told their firm will cut ties EOY if certain things don’t improve. Friend had planned to quit in the next year anyway (to start their own business), so there is no real incentive to bend over backwards. Friend’s goal is to keep the income for a little longer, but to minimize conflict / headaches. What’s the best move here? Wait until EOY and take the severance? Give 6 / 9 / 12 months’ notice now? Is there such a thing as too much notice? Could too much notice backfire?
Can we talk about the failure that is vision 2020? I dunno about yalls office , but here in the south. We've had employees laid off , list multiple clients , and are now trying to pass stuff to India
In a background check can the company determine if I was let go or fired from a company? I was let go for “performance issues” but my snapshots and receiving severance/unemployment so do not agree.
“This global pandemic is exactly what our industry needed.” Okay...now repeat this exact phrase to the hundreds already laid off and all the ones to come. 🤯 https://www.campaignlive.com/article/took-global-pandemic-draw-line-sand-adland-sorely-needed/1678340
hey all, i’m 3 years into my career. some decent work produced, some awards (mostly student). after getting laid off last fall and many many applications and emails sent, I’ve decided to spend time and money on a creative PR stunt to get my dream agencies’ attention. I’ve decided I don’t want to settle any longer, and I’m ready to make the jump to the elite. so people that have made it to their dream agencies: when did it happen for you, what made it happen, and was it everything you hoped for?
3 years of PLM Windchill exp, and Supply chain engg coursework during MS. Recently laid off. Available immediately. Asking for referrals. Will be happy to talk more about my skill set. Thank you.
Counselee is 90+ days behind on Corp AmEx and its suspended until paid in full. Charges include personal. Will she be fired?
Lots of farewell emails this week at PwC. People getting laid off? Has anyone heard anything about it?
Anyone ever sit back and think about the problem of the commons? There is alot of rhetoric pitting democrats vs republican. Honeslty it seem to be more similar to a game then politics, yet society as a whole seems to be deteriorating. But those elected keep getting rich while others are begging for help, i mean dont get me wrong i get fired today or tomorrow, i may struggle a bit but for the most part will land on my feet..but why has it become so dismissive. I agree and disagree with both sides
Just got fired. Not surprised and kind of relieved but ego is bruised. Anyone got any stories of when they got fired/laid off and it turned out for the better?
Is there anyone at Leidos, CACI or Raytheon in the DC Metro who wants to refer my husband? He's in final adjudication for his TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly, but his entire team was laid off (COVID). Looking for another contractor to pick up his clearance sponsorship so they can use his intelligence and language skills (and so he doesn't have to start the clearance process from scratch).
Anyone else out there concerned that the market is going to go bear and we’ll be back to the days of endless layoffs and starving for projects?
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
Getting Laid 👍 > Getting Off 👍 > Getting Laid Off 👎
When someone gets fired/laid off but they keep their previous title/agency on LinkedIn, does anyone ever tell them to change it?
How is the business going for all you consultants? Are your companies getting new projects? Any layoffs ?
I know everyone is talking about Deutsch’s CCO getting fired, but did Venables Bell’s CCO get fired too? It didn’t sound like it from the article, so I’m curious what’s going on since I was actually interested in working there but am unsure now. Why are all these CCOs so stupid? 🤦🏾♀️
Should I go home? Nyc > ATL. Much more worried about spreading something accidentally than anything else at this point, parents are saying if I Clorox everything and Uber to empty airport I’ll be ok..
I have 5 years of experience in Client facing roles. I am expecting an offer from KPMG for the Software Engineering Associate role in the LA area. What is the salary I can ask or negotiate for if given an offer?
No promotion at year end but in SOW, projected as a SA. Is it ok for the firm to make more money out of me when I'm not a SA but an associate.

Evaluating an offer in Canada with Avanade base pay - 160k CAD, 6% annual bonus, 10k CAD sign on , location - Toronto. YoE - 11 years, already have a Canadian PR. Currently in the US employed with EY at 150k USD base, but on a H1B visa, GC EB3 PD 2019. Worth it? Avanade folks?
Can you still negotiate an offer even if you said ok to their salary range during the initial HR/recruiter call? Let’s say they said the salary will be around 85k and you said okay to that initially - can you still negotiate that to 90k when you get an offer?
I am the partner leading our local office lgbt group. What should I be doing to engage more with our people during this time? Zoom once a month only goes so far I think but I have run out of other ideas.
My group (Regulatory Compliance) within EY Advisory is hiring. We have 25 "Senior" level open spots. If you are interested, send your resume to email@example.com, and I can refer you.
Need urgent advice. Got a job as a senior analyst at a ratings agency. 1. Any ideas for what I should be targeting as my compensation? 2. Would it be possible to exit to more lucrative role afterwards? Wanted to do IR at a PE eventually.
I want to know when Big4 hire graduate from non-technical background and train them to be on technical roles at Asso and SA levels, I am wondering if the client is okay with it. For example I hv degree in Computer Science / multiple Certs - I worked as Solution Architect for many yrs in industry. I see a lot of Associates (1-2 years out of college with no IT exp) being on implementation projects as BA/PM roles. New to consulting so trying to get perspective and not undermining anyone.
