Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon
Hi fishes, How is WLB, Hikes in company @dell .

Anyone take SHRM? How many hours did you study?
McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

Generally speaking: 100% yes. I jumped to industry for several years and it was like one long vacation
Yes but doesn’t always mean it’s good. Slower processes and less competent people generally. It depends obviously, but that has been my experience.

As long as you don’t come to Amazon
Yeah I worked in the hospital industry and was on call 24 x 7 🤦♂️
I'm working on an engagement where typical email response time is 12 to 24 hours, and they decline any meetings after 4pm so I'd say yeah....

I’d love to work for them
It depends but generally yes bc you don’t have artificial deadlines imposed by overeager divorced from reality partners who overpromise work and bend over backwards to kiss a rude entitled client’s ass
Industry can be painfully slow but standard hours and not much flexibility. Consulting allows more flexibility with your hours, more variability in the hours, and more competent people. I prefer consulting.
There is a catch, if you fall on the wrong political side you will be managed out. HR processes are pretty bad in industry. In Consulting the HR processes is strong, you just have to find the set of people you love working with. Consulting is better as you move upwards in your career.
It’s only better if you love sales and don’t care about delivery,
Yes
My team typically signs off at 4 lol
Which company? Can you hire me?
I work, 10 hours a week and make vastly more than I did in consulting.
Hire me!
100% yes!
When I moved from consulting to industry my hours worked dropped from 50 to 30 🥳 Is industry painfully slow at times and riddled with people that aren’t the brightest crayon in the box? Yes
Does the drastically better WLB and decreased work related stress make up for it? Also yes :)

Yes from my previous industry experience a decade ago and seeing how my former peers WLB is now.
wife works for an F500 and her hours are a joke. She gets every 4th friday off and have tons of fun days in the office. She barely works and makes 150 take home. Incredible gig tbh.
I left for finance and it’s still better than Mck. Not great hours (it’s more than a 9-5 by a decent bit) but I haven’t pulled any truly late nights. Average day is 7/8-7/8. Pay more than doubled and perks are way better so I’m happy with it.

Yes. Went to industry for a year and a half and boomeranged back. Was not all it is cracked out to be
So much better that I work 2 remote industry jobs earning well over $400K and still work less than I did in consulting. Planning to travel the world while I work too just bc I can.
@A1 I lead, or usually co-lead, growth type projects within product, GTM, or corporate strategy. Decks are a tool we use to present, yes. The jobs are typical S&O manager roles in tech. I don’t have a spouse or family but I live with my GF.
@ICF1 It stands for Corp-to-Corp. Meaning I’ve incorporated myself so that I can contract with companies under my own business and not as an individual or under an agency. Much better tax advantages this way.
Yes. Making $300k to work 20 hours a week lol
I guess I'm going to apply to c1!
Pay is proportionate too.
Not in tech
Doubled my total comp and never work over 40 hours. 10/10 would recommend
Yes.
