Bain & Company I have a second round with Bain & Company coming up at the DC office for Experienced Consultant role. Excited, but hella nervous. Recruiter said it’d be 3 separate interviews, all with Partners; 2 case, 1 fit. About 40 mins each. First round was 2 case interviews with Sr. manager & Associate Partner. Been a rough year, so definitely looking forward to this opportunity. I’ve been on the site and going through preparation and materials. Any advice or suggestions welcomed!

I’m not in a position to hire but I’ll gladly review your book and give it feedback if that would be helpful! Feel free to DM me
I’m a WOC. I’ve been hit up by other junior/entry level POC on LinkedIn randomly to see if they can get their foot in the door. You know what? I’m 100% ok with it and happy to help because I want to see more POC, especially creatives, in our company. Don’t be afraid to reach out to build your own network.

It’s actually a lot smaller number this year for MAIP. It’s not you, it’s 2020. Keep at it.
It is not impossible at all. But it will take a lot of work on your part, finding recruiters, sending emails, doing informational interviews, all that. (Pro tip: applying for jobs on websites or linkedin generally doesn't work for creatives).
I'd start maybe with other creatives and ask for feedback on your book and start to get an idea of where your work stands.
Then ask each person you chat with for names of people you should contact and contact them (you now have a name to drop).
Be humble. Listen. Don't defend.
When it feels like your book is ready, start reaching out again and also reach out to recruiters at agencies.
I'd be happy to take a look at your work and help you get the process started.
I’m not a creative but I agree — seems like getting hired for internships/junior level roles is significantly harder for people who aren’t part of MAIP. Guess that’s a testament to how strong the MAIP network is so honestly good for them.
That being said, it’s not impossible! I’m also trying to get my foot in the door (and also a POC) so hmu if you want an accountability partner!
Hi! I’m also getting started in the industry and I’m POC. What is MAIP?
Are you using a recruiter? If not, reach out to them since they know who's hiring
YES!! You can!!!!

They have a network, you have to build yours. Reach out to recruiters and folks directly. Look for the agencies you see making work you like, look at their people list on LinkedIn, connect and contact. It'll hit sometimes and sometimes it won't, but it's a sure way to build your network.
Of course it is possible.
Yes! I’m a WOC and what I’ve learned is that MAIP is like someone mentioned a way to get your foot in the door as a connection. You just have to foster a connection with someone or a program and make THAT your foot in the door.
I didn’t do MAIP although I really wanted to but I found a connection elsewhere.
