First I’m Asian. My kids went to a great Christian private elementary school. My kids grew loving Jesus and gain so much academically. But last year we pulled both of our kids out of the school and started homeschooling because God lead us to homeschooling. Ultimately for my wife and I, we want our kids to love Jesus and thats what we want to teach and leave behind for our kids. Do not follow the patterns of this world but follow what God is leading you and your family. People might think you are crazy for homeschooling but find pods or other Christian homeschooling family and do it together. Go to Facebook and search for homeschool or Christian homeschool group. Homeschooling isn’t easy but if this is what God wants for your family then trust him and do it.
Consider looking into LUOA (affiliate of Liberty University). You could get a local Co Op so your kids get a social aspect.
LUOA has a lot to offer and challenges good growth
Frankly, I'm not shooting for top academic schools for my kids. As with anything else, prestige passes with this world. And, those will likely not instill Christ centered values (especially Catholic ones which I am pointing out as a Catholic myself).
To clarify, it's our job to instill the values. However, these schools try to break them down, in my opinion.
Anything is possible…. I went to private Christian school albeit in the 80s.
We homeschooled our grand children but the social aspect has been challenging so they are trying a year in public school.
Good luck 🍀
Do you have homeschooling cohorts in your area? There's a few churches in my area that do it.
Completely understandable, its a decision with consequences still unknown which can be tricky. Certainly gather all the information you can and then pray that ultimately God's perfect will would be done. They're His children first and He will always guide and protect them and you to what's best.
Proverbs 3:5-6
I have a relative who’s 3 kids were homeschooled - not a DE&I group. All 3 got free rides into top schools because they were national merit scholarship finalists. I homeschooled and my child did a lot of dual enrollment at a local community college. Her AA was almost all free because she took classes starting in 10th grade.
We did have a good homeschool group locally. She participated in several sports starting in middle school.
MANY of the kids get scholarships or financial help with school via sports and/or academics.
In my opinion, homeschooling is the way to go these days if you can swing it. There’s so much nonsense going on in public schools.
