Unless you’re high net worth or have some really peculiar situation, no, it’s not worth it.

Wow I didn’t realize Reddit had information subthreads. Thank you PwC!
Yes
No. I paid $1k and all they did was pretty much provide a prospectus of their offerings. Sometimes your insurance or 401k fund provides this service free of charge. I found the complimentary advisory session from the 401k fund was better than the paid session which was with an investment bank
Just watch YouTube. You can set up a very simple portfolio and put everything on autopilot.
I can help!
My opinion no. Unless you already have a lot of wealth, you don't need one. The best advice I got from multiple financial advisor friends was get one if you want them to maintain your fortune. Rarely do they make you money. Their job is usually to just make sure you don't lose all your money (if you have millions etc.)
I do encourage you to read investment books and watch videos to educate yourself on how to build wealth. Ask successful mentors too. There is more than one right way to build your wealth
It depends on your financial goals. If I’m trying to retire at 45 a 401k and IRA only does me so good. To note I have a financial advisor, this year I only loss 5% of my investments compared to my 401k where I loss 14%.
My wife and I engaged a financial planner to do a couple of one-off plans, but a financial advisor only makes sense if you have a high net worth and/or nontraditional goals. For the most part, you can set and forget in no fee funds that track market indices and you’ll outperform active management most of the time.
