Don't waste your time. They will blow smoke up your bum, but in reality they won't help you find anything.
They’re still making people come in for interviews? Ugh. It’d be one thing if they called and said “we have X job at X agency at X rate. Are you free to start?” But hell no, I’m not schlepping to their office for some meet and greet. They have tiny value in getting you work and zero value as far as networking. So if you wanna chat, go for it...but don’t do it in person. Only worth minimal investment.
My ACD CW buddy told me about his past experience working with CC? Before CC would contact you if they received a job and thought the role was a good fit for you. Now when jobs come in, they send mass emails out to their FL’ers and whoever responds might get a follow-up. He said he’s gotten emails for print production, video editing and admin jobs that are not in his skill set. So CC are not only getting lazy but when they do place people, take half your pay or more.
Oh and my personal recruiter has never reached out once. Instead I get mass emails and half the times the jobs are for skill sets that aren’t even mine.
If you’re senior it probably won’t be worth it. Their rates are about 1/3rd of what I actually charge because they take such a giant cut. I’ve never taken a job through them.
No no no no no no no no no a bazillion goddamn times NO.
If they actually get you work, you will make five cents an hour
Don’t go to Creative Circle. They take a minimum of 30% on jr to sr jobs and 50% on Sen to CD gigs. Have a friend who works there.
Oh, to add a third point. From what I understand, there is a lack of transparency and the agencies hiring aren’t told what a huge cut is taken. So they’ll offer a rate they think will attract someone senior, then they get sent someone junior because no seniors will accept the rate after it’s cut. And no one ends up happy.
DONT
They are the worst if you are senior—more of a hassle than any help.
I hate everything about them. Dishonorable mention to 24/7, too, if they come up in your search
Very helpful. Thank you 🙏🙏
Do not waste your time going in for an interview.
Pretty much what everyone already said. They wanted to place me at Huge for $55/hr, 10 years experience.
This ^^^^
was actually let go from a job for this very reason
