Echo Freelance Writer in not knowing your situation, but the clout of google alone will help you land in your next spot easily should contract not be extended. I’ve worked with them - great people that I interacted with. Good luck!!
Can’t speak to your own situation (family, health etc) or the larger context at hand, but if you can take on some risk I think you should do it — freelance contract positions often get extended — and Google is major and will open many doors (thinking especially about the connections you will be able to make). The possible payoff seems worth it. It’s scary but you will land regardless!
I made this same kind of jump a couple of months ago and while I haven’t reached the end of my contract yet, I’m so happy!
It's risky since freelancing, most of the time, only last for a couple of months. You're luck if the position gets extended.
