I would say common, definitely not normal. I don’t mean that in a negative way towards you at all. I suffer with this too. Its hard to shut it off at times. It’s almost like a form of ptsd. I have been using the Calm app and its been helpful, as well deep breathing exercises.
I’ve been a nurse for 27 years and still go over the day on my way home. Once I’m home I shut it down!

During my first year as a nurse, I had anxiety before, during and after work. I just had to learn how to manage it. It gets easier. Find what works for you.
Yeah I 100% agree my first year as a nurse I was anxious and over thinking stuff but as you gain confidence you’ll leave it behind.
Yes normal
Not uncommon at all, especially for newer nurses. You have to spend the time learning the best ways to manage that anxiety for you personally. I found long walks after work listening to music really helped. When I get home and start focusing on it, I try to redirect my attention.
I hope it is, because I have that too! I've spent all morning wondering whether or not I remembered to update this one patient's chart. Finally had to call my coworker (on my day off) just to make sure because I couldn't concentrate on anything else.
